Sniper Bots: The First Strike Advantage (and Extreme Risks)
Sniper bots are designed to buy newly launched tokens on Decentralized Exchanges (DEXs) the instant liquidity is added, aiming for the lowest possible entry price before hype potentially drives the price up.
How They Work:
- Monitor blockchain mempools or DEX contracts for new liquidity pool events.
- Instantly submit buy transactions upon detection.
- Often use very high gas/priority fees to ensure fast execution ("gas wars").
EXTREME RISK WARNING:
Sniping is one of the riskiest activities in crypto.
- Rug Pulls & Scams: The vast majority of new tokens are scams; bots cannot distinguish them.
- Failed Transactions & High Gas Costs: Gas wars are expensive, and transactions can still fail.
- Front-Running (MEV): More sophisticated bots can exploit your snipe attempts.
- Extreme Slippage & Volatility: Low initial liquidity causes massive price swings.
Success is rare and requires deep technical expertise, significant capital for gas, and luck in avoiding scams. Strongly discouraged for most users.
